GBF Programs

At God’s Best Family, our programs are part of the All Seasons Youth &  Program Family Support Model, offering year-round opportunities that engage, educate, and empower. From afterschool tutoring and teen mentoring to family events, recovery support, and workforce development, we provide holistic resources that strengthen children, parents, and the entire South Baltimore community.

YOUTH MENTORING

Providing safe, year-round spaces for learning, growth, and mentorship that empower youth to thrive and build lifelong connections..

  • Bright Mornings & Beyond – Daily support to help children start and end their day strong, including a Breakfast Program with healthy meals and school transport, an Afterschool Program (Mon–Fri, 3–6:30 PM) with tutoring, mentorship, STEM, arts, and safe childcare, plus Saturday Enrichment with field trips, service projects, creative arts, and birthday celebrations that build confidence and belonging.
  • Teen Program – Workshops, outings, and mentoring that prepare teens for adulthood while giving them opportunities to mentor younger peers.
  • Peer-to-Peer Mentoring – Leadership development and small -group mentoring to build confidence and responsibility.
  • Enrichment & Exploration – Monthly field trips, arts programming, and STEM workshops that spark curiosity and creativity
  • Summer Camp – Eight weeks of learning and fun with team-budling activities, sailing lessons, farm visits, and hands-on technology experiences.

COMMUNITY FAMILY EVENTS

Bringing neighbors together to share food, fellowship, and pride while strengthening community bonds through celebrations, service, and shared traditions.

  • Friends & Family Festival – Our annual summer celebration featuring music, food, local vendors, fellow community supporters, and resources, bringing together hundreds of residents and partners across South Baltimore.
  • Thanksgiving Giveaway – Distributing turkeys, hot meals, and resources to ensure no family goes without during the holiday season.
  • Winter Wishlist – Pairing families with donors to provide holiday gifts and essentials for children and parents in need.
  • Adopt-a-Family & Care Packages – Year-round support for households in need, including essential supplies for families and shelters.
  • Community Clean-Ups – Creating safe, welcoming spaces that foster unity and pride in our neighborhoods.

PARENTING CLASSES & FAMILY SUPPORT

Strengthening families through resources, guidance, and community connection.

  • One-on-one meetings with struggling parents
  • Workshops to better understand teens & children
  • Resources to improve family dynamics and parents strategies
  • Required Chat n’ Chew sessions for GBF families, open to all community members

ROAD TO RECOVERY

Walking alongside individuals on their journey to sobriety and stability.

  • Referrals to rehabilitation placement
  • Care packages for those in recovery
  • Yearly banquet celebrating sobriety milestones
  • Peer accountability and sustainable life planning

SUPPORT GROUPS

Creating safe spaces for honest conversations, healing, and connection.

  • Group sessions for adults and youth on daily life enrichment.
  • Guided group discussions with licensed professionals
  • Focus on mental health, daily life enrichment, and resilience-building
  • Ongoing community connection through Chat n’ Chew sessions

  • Maryland Health Connection resources and enrollment assistance.
  • Covid 19 care packages and support

WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT

Building pathways to employment, career growth, and economic independence.

  • Career search support and interview preparation
  • Job resources for returning citizens (felons)
  • Career training and certification programs
  • Teen employment pipeline through partnerships like Baltimore City YouthWorks  and the Mayor’s Office Employment Development.
