Turell Brooks is a local native to the city of Baltimore. Seeing the ups and downs this city can provide throughout his childhood, as an adult, he was able to see the needs amongst his community and answered the call.
Experiencing daily struggles in his youth, he chose a path of the streets, seeing it as the only option to provide for his family. Realizing how much of a role model he was for his siblings, he began to turn his life around by contributing his time, knowledge, and finances to help the youth in the community.
He began to step up by doing simple things like hosting pizza parties, playing dodgeball/ card games, and welcoming members in the community with open arms; creating a safe space for kids who are currently experiencing similar things he did as a child. As this continued over the years, those simple things began having large impacts for those in need.
He was hired by the City of Baltimore and his position gave him the opportunity to expand his positive deeds within his community. He spoke at a conference for youth sponsored by the City, he hosted an evening talk show on Larry Young’s radio station, and he earned a certificate for service to his community.
It became clear to him that God saved him from a life of crime to be able to give back, be a helping hand for those in need, & eventually build this organization with the help of those who believed in his mission.
